In 1982 Buddy Patterson started Cedarwood Nursery in what is now known as the nursery capital of the world, McMinnville, TN. In the summer of 2001, Buddy Patterson and his son Luke decided to grow 8 acres of pumpkins just for fun. The pumpkins did really well that year so Buddy’s wife Jana, who is a school teacher, suggested starting an agritourism pumpkin patch to educate children and adults about agriculture and to get rid of the extra pumpkins. It started with just a haymaze, hayride, petting zoo, and a pumpkin patch and has grown tremendously ever since.
We now plant 40+ acres of pumpkins each year and expand on our activities each season. Along with the pumpkin patch and nursery, we also raise cattle, goats, sheep, and poultry. We look forward to the fall and there is no other feeling like having people visit your farm while learning and having fun. We strive to put a smile on the face of everyone who walks in the door and hope to continue to do it for many years to come.
